The Steam Era

With the adoption of steam vessels, the company focused on the export of coal, and relationships in Spain and North America flourished.

The War

WW2 had a significant impact on our business. Salt and coal merchanting all but finished.


Today Peacock enjoy the enviable position of being the UK's largest salt importer, with the most customers and widest variety of salts.
