A Step in Time: Charity Challenge for SAMH
To keep the momentum going after our epic 150th anniversary celebrations in June, we’re swapping our platforms and bellbottoms for waterproofs and walking boots and setting off on a fundraising walk along the Ayrshire Coastal Path on a route peppered with salt history. For this very special year, our team has chosen to support a very special charity, Scottish Action for Mental Health (SAMH).
From two different starting points, two teams of plucky Peacock’s will tackle a collective 35 miles of paths and pavements, rolling hills and rocky coves before meeting back at Peacock HQ in Ayr. This will be no mean feat, not only with the distance to cover but with various terrains and tides to consider, however with a sprinkle of sunshine, a smattering of sea air and those views across the coastline, anything is possible. And of course, there will be some learning opportunities as we pass many historical salt sites.
Mental health affects so many of us, directly or indirectly. The work of SAMH spans a broad spectrum of support from policy to projects and we hope our ambitious fundraising target will help them continue this important work.
We have been proud to support many great causes over the years and grateful for the generosity of our customers, suppliers and the wider Peacock family. Our fundraising page can be found here. Anything you can contribute is gratefully received and if you would like to support the event in other ways, get in touch.
We would be grateful for any donations, large or small, to help us on our way to raising money for such a great charity and please give us a follow on social media to keep up to speed with our training, preparation and the walk itself!
