Meet the team Ian

This month, we caught up with Ian Abraham, one of the friendly faces in our busy procurement department. Ian joined Peacock Salt in August 2024 and has quickly become a valued member of the team. A fan of the outdoors fuelled by his two energetic dogs, there’s nothing Ian loves more fishing and hillwalking especially in the autumn, his favourite season.

Ian’s role 

Ian is currently our Supply Chain Assistant within our ever-active procurement team. Prior to this, he worked in the mixing line producing bespoke mixes. His role consists of closely working with the rest of the procurement team to ensure that all products are brought in correctly, performing stock checks and much more. He describes his job as fast-paced and full of opportunities to learn. Ian joined Peacock Salt nearly a year ago and has continued to develop his skills and knowledge within the business ever since and says one of the best parts of the job is the supportive environment.

If Ian wasn’t at Peacock Salt he’d be…

If Ian weren’t working in our procurement team, you’d probably find him in the skies.

“I’ve always had a passion for aviation, so I’d say I’d be a commercial airline pilot.”

Advice for his younger self 

“Don’t put money above happiness. It sounds simple, but it’s so important.” A wise piece of advice from Ian. 

When asked what he’s most proud of in his career, Ian shared that he was the first chairman of the London Borough of Bromley’s children in care council and even received an award and medal for his contribution for creating a voice for the children in the borough. Wow what an achievement.

Life outside of work

Outside of work, Ian enjoys aviation, tech and hopping in the car to explore remote places “driving to the middle of nowhere” is a personal favourite.
